Walked over to meet Ric and Charlee at the Floata Restaurant on Keefer St. for dim sum this morning. It was a beautiful, sunny, crisp morning in Vancouver and the afternoon is equally spectacular. We deserve a few such days after the storms of the past month.

Boxing Day
A day of taking it easy after the Big Day! Started to get ready for our trip south and packing stuff away in preparation for our renters coming in on Saturday. We braved the stores for a short while with Phil and Sandy. Phil got a shirt he had been eyeing since before Christmas! Then walked back home via Denman St. and the seawall. Norm and Shannon dropped in for a visit prior to going to watch a Canucks game with friends. They are going back home to Calgary late this afternoon. Took our now traditional group Christmas photo.

Merry Christmas 2006!
We had a quiet Christmas morning, tried a new scone recipe for breakfast, made phone calls to family and friends, and then went for a walk along the seawall and back home through the city.

Happy Birthday, Sandy (50 never looked so good!)
...and Happy Anniversary, Stan and Jocelyne (they both fall on the same day). We had dinner at the Keg in New Westminster before going to Ric and Charlee's for their annual Christmas Party. Sandy's best present was the surprise visit of her two daughters, Shannon and Cheryl, from Calgary.

A Story About Willy
Get Together at Silvana's
We enjoyed another great italian dinner at Silvana's last night. Two couples were missing from the expected group but Andy was lively enough to make up for at least three people!

Justina arrived today from the Naval Academy in Kingston, ON for the Christmas holidays. Very happy mama and papa!

Weekend at the Lakehouse
We've just come back from a wonderful weekend at the Lakehouse on Whatcom Lake in Bellingham, WA. This was our second time there this year - we house-swapped last April. Thanks Chris and Barbara!

Salut - Yvonne and Max!
We had a great evening on the 24th. Dave and Lorette organized a soiree in honour of their good friends, Yvonne and Max, visiting from Cape Town, South Africa. It was a 'happy hour' gathering that lasted well into the evening, thanks to Max's wonderful piano playing. No one wanted to leave and no one wanted him to stop playing with many couples hitting the dance floor. In attendance were about 40 to 50 residents of their townhouse complex, as well as ourselves and Phil and Sandy. Lorette, as per usual, laid on a marvelous display of appetizers. As if that wasn't enough, we ended the evening back at Dave and Lorette's place for curry and salad! Here are a couple more photos taken.

Our friend, Christine and Kenny Bloome (PJ's sister and brother-in-law came to see us for a few days in late October. We had a great time together. Thank you Kenny for introducing us to those great cheeses.
