Japanese Festival

We took in the Japanese Festival at the Mission Plaza Park. This event is in its 21st year and was really well done and attended.

A wedding soon to take place at the catholic church just behind the festival venue ...

And I Found My Dream Car Too

On the way back to the parking lot, there was this beauty... (we're referring to the car here)

"Woodies" on the Wharf

This is an annual event on the Santa Cruz Wharf. There must have been a couple of hundred "woodies" of various makes. Even a couple of them hooked to vintage Airstream trailers, Kenny! The old surfing/beach boys music was blaring out to complete the experience.

Stan's dream car was there - and for sale!

Santa Cruz Adventure

We left Vancouver for Santa Cruz on May 27th on our way to house- and dog-sit for Kenny and Christine who were leaving for Europe on the 31st. Left BC in the rain and were in sunny Yreka in the late afternoon. Made our way to Santa Cruz the next day. The first week or so was quite cool with fog in the mornings but there has been a great improvement in the second week. We're keeping in shape walking Ziggy, seeing some of the sights, doing a bit of shopping, trying some of the restaurants recommended by Kenny for lunches, enjoying the Netflix movies which come in the mail every few days, doing a little gardening and thoroughly enjoying our stay in the area.

We drove Kenny and Christine to a hotel near the airport on the eve of their departure. Well, Kenny drove in and got stopped by the police for driving over a curb!!! - Stan drove back within incident.

Cycling with Phil and Sandy

A few days before leaving for Santa Cruz, we spent a great day with Phil and Sandy. Part of it involved cycling over to Granville Island. Sandy enjoyed my "girl" bike so much, she bought her own. These photos were taken prior to her purchase so you'll have to wait till we get back home to see a picture of her beootiful "girl" bike.
