Cycling through Vancouver Today

We went to the Japanese Festival on our bikes and carried on from there towards the Port of Vancouver, the Cruise Ship/Convention Centre facility, along the water to Stanley Park and back home along English Bay and the False Creek seawall. Here are some of the sights.

Annual Japanese Festival in Vancouver

This is the longest running Japanese Festival in North America which takes place on the long weekend in August. It is held in Oppenheimer Park bordered on one side by Powell Street - the original Japan town before World War II. This is our second Japanese Festival this year as we attended the Santa Cruz one when we were there in June. Here are some pictures of the festivities here in Vancouver.

Back after a Very Busy Summer

Well, we're back home in Vancouver after nearly five months away. The slowness of dial-up internet at the girls' farm (but I have been promised satellite connection for next time - it is coming to the area) and the total lack of access from the cottage are the reasons why our blog has been silent throughout the summer. And not, because we've been idle. There's a lot to catch up on and we're working on it. Thanks for all the comments on the past posts. Appreciated.
